Mizuhiki Workshop by the Sea

When you visit Sado for Earth Celebration, why not journey a little further to a quiet harbor town? At an atelier overlooking the ocean in the village of Tassha, you can immerse yourself in the delicate art of mizuhiki accessory making. Try your hand at creating a one-of-a-kind piece, combining your favorite materials with meaningful traditional knots like the "plum blossom" (ume-musubi) or the "wish-granting" (kana-u-musubi) knot. As a private or small-group workshop, you can take your time and find your flow as a creator. It is a peaceful moment to savor the gentle side of Sado—a perfect contrast to the high-energy excitement of the festival. ★ You can create the following accessories: ・Pierced Earrings / Clip-on Earrings ・Necklaces ・Brooches ・Keychains ・Kanzashi (Traditional Hairpins) ・Bookmarks
