Kentataku Sound Gathering Mission

Kodo member Kenta Nakagome is all about seeking out feel-good sound. He gets creative, too, building his own instruments from all sorts of objects to beat—tataku—and make new soundscapes. This year at EC, Kenta invites you to join him on a mission to find a range of different sounds and bring them all together in this fun, creative “play with sound” workshop. Sado Island Taiko Centre’s instructor Tomohiro Yonetani (a.k.a Yone) will join the quest, too. Bring your own instruments and everyday objects that make interesting sounds. Let’s explore, listen, and collect different sounds, and see what we create as a group. Workshop participants will showcase the results on the Fringe stage in the afternoon during their very own Special Fringe performance!
